Enzymatic sensor based on conducting polymer coatings on metallised membranes

Abstract

In this work, use of an insulating microfiltration membrane coated with platinum on both sides allows independent optimisation of the enzymatic reaction and signal generation components required for electrochemical sensing of glucose. The enzyme glucose oxidase is incorporated into polypyrrole electrodeposited on one side of the membrane. The system could be used for detection of glucose over a period of 45 d.
