Miniaturisation of a matrix separation/preconcentration procedure for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
Abstract
The miniaturisation of an existing matrix separation/preconcentration procedure has been successfully developed to reduce the time required for analysis by 40% to 3 min. A microconcentric nebuliser in the ICP-MS permits a smaller volume of solution to be analysed which leads to a reduction in reagent consumption. Recoveries ranging from 91 to 102% are reported for a range of elements along with validation data from two certified reference materials CASS-2 and SLEW-1.
