Characterization of an unusual carbon entity: ‘gypsum flower’-like carbon

Abstract

We present a description and a characterization of an unusual carbon entity which is produced in a combustion flame method. The process involved is very close to that of a diamond synthesis combustion flame and characterization isvia electron microscopy (scanning and transmission). That carbon entity is revealed to be an sp 2 phase that presents a very unusual texture.
