Selective Oxidation of Toluene over Complex Fe–Mo Oxides in the Absence of Molecular Oxygen

Abstract

In the Cr III -catalysed oxidation of formic acid by Ce IV in aqueous sulfuric acid media, an intermediate involving the oxidant, substrate and catalyst is formed and a Cr III /Cr IV catalytic cycle operates.
