Solvothermal synthesis and crystal structure of [NEt4]6[ {Mo33-Se)(µ-η2-Se 2)32-Se2)(µ-η 2-Se5)(η1-Se5)} 2(µ-η2-Se4)]. The first trinuclear molybdenum polyselenide dimer containing two [Mo3Se7]4+ cluster cores bridged by a Se42- chain

Abstract

Two equivalent [Mo 3 Se 19 ] 2- moieties, each composed of a [Mo 3 Se 7 ] 4+ cluster core, two ligating Se 5 2- chains and a (η 2 -Se 2 ) 2- group, are bridged by a Se 4 2- chain to form the [Mo 6 Se 42 ] 6- ion.
