Discotic bimetallomesogens: highly disordered mesophases of columnar hexagonal arrangements in bis(tetraketonate) vanadyl and copper complexes

Abstract

A series of bis(tetraketonate) complexes of dicopper and divanadyl has been prepared and their mesomorphic properties investigated by polarized optical microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction.
