Kinetic stabilization of trivalent nickel complexes with tertiary tetraaza macrocyclic ligands in aqueous solution

Abstract

The nickel(II) complexes of 1,4,8,11-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11- tetraazacyclotetradecane and meso-1,4,5,7,7,8,11,12,14,14-decamethyl- 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane gave trivalent nickel complexes upon electrochemical oxidation, the properties of these new, powerful single-electron oxidizing trivalent species have been investigated.
