Synthesis and characterization of the first dodecanuclear M–Ag–S cage cluster: [NEt4]2[{M2Ag2S2 O2(S2C2H4)2 }36-S)]·CH2Cl2 ·MeCN (M = Mo, W)

Abstract

The first dodecanuclear heterobimetallic cage cluster with a central µ 6 -S ligand, containing the core [{M 2 Ag 2 - S 2 O 2 (edt) 2 } 3 6 -S)] 2- (M = Mo, W; H 2 edt = ethane-1,2-dithiol), is synthesized and characterized; the average Ag–µ 6 -S bond length of the core [{Mo(W) 2 Ag 2 - S 2 O 2 (edt) 2 } 3 6 -S)] 2- is 2.528 (2.531) Å.
