Synthesis of tricarbonylchromium(0) complexes of benzylic halides

Abstract

Addition of BX 3 (X = Br, I, Cl) to tricarbonylchromium(0) complexes of benzylic alcohols and ethers provides tricarbonylchromium(0) complexes of benzylic halides in excellent yield (90–99%).
