Novel gold derivatives of titanium carbonyl and structural characterization of a compound containing an unsupported gold–titanium bond: [Ti(CO)6(AuPEt3)]-

Abstract

Hexacarbonyltitanate(2-) reacts with (R 3 P)AuCl (R = C 6 H 11 , Et) to provide the first anions of the general formula [M(CO) x (AuPR 3 ) y ] z , and a structurally characterized (for R = Et) compound containing a largely unsupported gold–titanium bond.
