Abstract

Novel thermotropic, metallomesogenic polymers with a poly(ferrocenylsilane) main chain and 4-pentoxy-4′-hydroxyhexanoxyazobenzene or 4-pentoxy-4′-hydroxy-undecyloxyazobenzene acrylate side chains have been prepared; each material displays a nematic mesophase.
