Poly[oxymethylene-oligo(oxyethylene)] network electrolytes

Abstract

Poly[oxymethylene-oligo(oxyethylene)]s have been prepared with a proportion of the chain units having pendant unsaturated groups. Radical chemistry was used to crosslink either the polymers alone or mixtures of the polymers with LiClO4. Swelling and tensile measurements were used to determine the extent of crosslinking, and differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis to determine glass transition and melting temperatures. Conductivities of network-salt mixtures were measured by ac impedance spectroscopy. The conductivities and thermal properties of crosslinked and uncrosslinked materials were essentially identical.
