Atomization of vanadium in a graphite furnace: experimental and theoretical modelling of surface interactions
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical modelling of the atomization of V on a graphite surface has been carried out in order to study the activity inherent to the surface. The most important variables and interactions on atomization of V have been investigated using factorial designs and response surface methodology. The effect of mineral acids on the memory effects usually encountered during the electrothermal atomization of V in graphite atomizers has been evaluated by modelling the coadsorption of protons on the graphite surface.
