Adsorption of benzenesulfonate anions at an Au(111) electrode: application to study of the reconstruction phenomenon of the Au(100) surface

Abstract

Adsorption of benzenesulfonate anions at the Au(111) single-crystal electrode has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry and capacity measurements at constant ionic strength. The results were fitted with the Frumkin isotherm. The present data are compared with those obtained at Au(210). Some of the data presented were used to obtain further information about the mechanism of the reconstruction of the Au(100) surface.
