Novel structural forms for imidoamides and oxoalkoxides of bismuth

Abstract

The reaction between BiCl3 and 3 equivalents of Li[NHR](R = 2,6-Me2C6H3) afforded the trinuclear bismuth imidoamide species [Bi3(µ-NR)4(NHR)] whilst BiPh3 and 3 equivalents of the alcohol HOR′(R′= 2,6-Cl2C6H3) gave the hexanuclear oxoalkoxide compound [Bi63O)3(µ-OR)7(OR)5] both of which have been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
