Synthesis and crystal structures of two isomers of [Ru4(CO)93-C15H20)]

Abstract

Two isomeric clusters 1 and 2 of formula [Ru4(CO)9(C15H20)] have been isolated from the reaction of [Ru3(CO)12] and 1,3,5-triisopropenylbenzene C15H18 and their crystal structures determined. It would appear that two hydrogen atoms have been transferred to a different carbon atom of C15H18 in each case, generating the two different molecular structures.
