Synthesis, photophysics and electrochemistry of [Au2(dppf)R2][dppf = Fe(η-C5H4PPh2)2; R = alkyl, aryl or alkynyl]. Crystal structure of [Au2(dppf)(C16H9)2](C16H9= pyren-1-yl)

Abstract

A series of organometallic complexes [Au2(dppf)R2][dppf = Fe(η-C5H4PPh2)2; R = Me, Ph, 1-naphthyl, 9-anthryl, pyren-1-yl (C16H9), C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh or C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CBut] have been synthesized. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties have been studied. Both excimer and exciplex formation are evidenced in [Au(dppf)2(C16H9)2]. The crystal structure of the latter has been determined.
