Codimerisation of CO and a 1,3-diynyl–metal complex on an Ru3 cluster

Abstract

The reaction of [W(C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CC[triple bond, length half m-dash]CH)(CO)3(cp)] with [Ru3{µ3HC2C[triple bond, length half m-dash]C[W(CO)3(cp)]}(µ-CO)(CO)9(cp =η-C5H5) afforded an unusual WRu3 cluster bearing a ligand formed by dimerisation of the diynyl ligand with incorporation of two molecules of CO, as shown by a crystal-structure determination.
