Selenium insertion into a cadmium–carbon bond; synthesis and structural characterisation of the loosely linked dimer [{Cd(SeC[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)2(tmen)}2](tmen = Me2NCH2CH2NMe2)

Abstract

The heterogeneous reaction of elemental selenium with the monomeric complex [Cd(C[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)2(tmen)](2:1 equivalents) produced the unusual loosely linked dimer [{Cd(SeC[triple bond, length half m-dash]CPh)2(tmen)}2].
