Heteronuclear Pt–Pd, Pt2Cu and Pt2Ni complexes with bridging acetamidate: crystal structures and spectroscopic studies

Abstract

The reaction of trans- and cis-[Pt(NH3)2(NHCOMe-N)2]1 and 2 with heterometals [(en)PdII(en = ethane-1,2-diamine), Cu2+ or Ni2+] has been investigated. Dinuclear compounds of stoichiometry PtML2 and trinuclear Pt2ML4 complexes with the heterometals co-ordinating through the amide oxygens have been characterised and studied in solution. The crystal structures of cis-[(NH3)2Pt(NHCOMe)2Pd(en)][ClO4]1.5[NO3]0.53, cis-[{Pt(NH3)2(NHCOMe)2}2Cu][ClO4]24 and cis-[{Pt(NH3)2(NHCOMe)2}2Ni][ClO4]25 have been determined.
