β-Mn(O2CMe)2: solvothermal synthesis and crystal structure of an unprecedented three-dimensional manganese (II) network

Abstract

Crystalline anhydrous bis(acetato)manganese(II) is isolated from superheated acetonitrile under autogeneous pressure; the single-crystal X-ray structure reveals a covalently linked three-dimensional network with six- and seven-coordinate manganese (II) centres.
