Specific interaction of bare Pd2+ with highly basic sites in calcined PdNaX

Abstract

The interaction of bare Pd2+ ions with framework oxygen in PdNaX calcined at 500°C results in an unusual 29Si MAS NMR band at δ– 79.5; line intensities indicate that bare Pd2+ ions are located preferentially close to highly basic sites exhibiting the Al richest environments; the strong Pd2+–framework interaction is reversibly released upon hydration/dehydration.
