Alkenylvinylidene and allenylidene complexes: evidence for the formation of a metal–trienylidene intermediate
Abstract
Reactions of [Ru(thf)(PPh3)2(η-C5H5)][PF6] with buta-1,4-diyne in the presence of nucleophiles give alkenylvinylidene or allenylidene complexes; the results are rationalised in terms of the formation of the intermediate trinylidene cation [Ru(C![[double bond, length half m-dash]](https://www.rsc.org/images/entities/char_e006.gif) C
