New detritylation method for nucleosides and nucleotides by ceric ammonium nitrate

Abstract

The trityl and monomethoxytrityl groups are efficiently (80–98% yields) removed from protected nucleosides or nucleotides by use of 0.10 equivalent of Ce(NH4)2(NO3)6 in wet acetonitrile and DMF under neutral conditions.
