Semi-conducting Langmuir–Blodgett films of a novel amphiphilic bis(tetrathiafulvalene) derivative

Abstract

Amphiphilic bis(tetrathiafulvalene) derivative 1 has been synthesized and assembled into Langmuir-Blodgett multilayers which, upon doping with iodine, afford stable semiconducting thin films of a mixed-valence salt, with in-plane roomtemperature conductivity, σrt= 10–3σ cm–1.
