Crystal growth, characterization and crystal structure of Cdln2Te4

Abstract

Crystal growth by a modified Bridgman method has been developed and applied to the preparation of stoichiometric CdIn2Te4 single crystals. The I[4 with combining macron]2m space group was found by analysing electron diffraction patterns and high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) images, ruling out the previously suggested I[4 with combining macron] group. Cadmium and indium atoms are randomly distributed on the sites.
