Rhodium complexes with 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (dbu): crystal structure of trans-[Rh(CO)(dbu)(PPh3)2]ClO4

Abstract

Attempts to deprotonate co-ordinated phenylhydrazine in trans-[Rh(CO)(NH2NHPh)(PPh3)2]ClO4, using 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (dbu), resulted in the displacement of the co-ordinated hydrazine to give trans-[Rh(CO)(dbu)(PPh3)2]ClO4 which has been fully characterised by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Other rhodium(I) complexes containing dbu have also been prepared and characterised spectroscopically.
