Crystallographic characterization of octaethylverdohaem

Abstract

The green product of coupled oxidation of octaethylporphyriniron(II) in pyridine has been determined by X-ray crystallography to be the low-spin (diamagnetic) bis(pyridine)iron(II) complex of the octaethyloxaporphyrin anion.
