Tetrabutylammonium salts of carbazole and dibenzoazepine: synthesis, crystal structures and use in anionic polymerization

Abstract

X-Ray structure analyses of the easily accessible tetrabutylammonium salts of carbazole and dibenzoazepine indicate that the anions and cations interact with one another via hydrogen bonding; these nitrogen nucleophiles initiate the anionic polymerization of acrylates and methacrylates at room temperature.
