Automatic extraction–spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of imipramine in pharmaceutical preparations

Abstract

The spectrofluorimetric determination of trace amounts of imipramine was carried out by liquid–liquid extraction using Erythrosine B with a flow injection system. The determination of imipramine in the range 0.12–2.80 µg ml–1 was possible with a sampling frequency of 45 h–1. The method was satisfactorily applied to the determination of imipramine in pharmaceutical preparations.
