Atomic absorption spectrometric determination of platinum and rhodium in cobalt oxide catalyst

Abstract

A procedure is proposed for the flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination of Rh and Pt in Co3O4 catalyst. The samples are reduced in a stream of hydrogen and dissolved in aqua regia. The accuracy of Rh determination was confirmed by the fusion method. The method of Pt extraction with triphenylphosphine in isobutyl methyl ketone was optimized from the point of view of precision and accuracy.
