Interactions of metal extractant reagents. Part VIII. Comparative aggregation equilibria of Cyanex 302 and Cyanex 301 in heptane

Abstract

The aggregation of the commercial extractants Cyanex 302 and Cyanex 301 at 301 K in heptane has been studied using the vapour pressure osmometry technique (VPO). Cyanex 302 forms a dimeric species in the conditions of the study, whereas no aggregation of Cyanex 301 has been found. Osmometric data for Cyanex 302 have been treated graphically and numerically and a value for the dimerization constant has been proposed.
