Adsorption of dialkyl derivatives of thiourea from an ethanol solution at a mercury electrode

Abstract

The adsorption on mercury of N,N′-dimethylthiourea, N,N′-diethylthiourea and N,N′-dibutylthiourea from a solution of 98 vol.% ethanol in NaCIO4 has been studied by the impedance method. The adsorption parameters of dialkyl derivatives of thiourea were determined as functions of electrode charge and bulk dialkyl derivative concentration. The adsorption parameters were compared with literature values for adsorption from an aqueous solution.
