Convenient large scale in situ synthesis of 3-(N,N-dialkylamino)-1,1-bis(trimethylsilyl)-propyllithium: source of a new sterically demanding γ-donor functionalized alkyl ligand

Abstract

The addition of Li[CH2NR2] to the olefin [Me3Si]2C[double bond, length half m-dash]CH2 yields almost quantitatively the new γ-donor functionalized organolithium compounds (Me3Si)2C(Li)CH2CH2NR2 which are used to synthesize the intramolecularly adduct stabilized organo-gallium and -zinc complexes R2GaC(SiMe3)2CH2CH2NR2, {ClZnC(SiMe3)2CH2CH2NR2NR2}2.
