A stable cis-azobenzene in aqueous solution

Abstract

In aqueous solution the peptides phenylazobenzyloxycarbonyl(pz)–Pro-Leu-Gly-Pro-D-Arg and pz–Pro-Leu have at least one third of their azobenzene moieties present in the cis configuration.
