Partial oxidation of methane over silica catalysts promoted by 3d transition metal ions

Abstract

Addition of a very small amount of 3d transition metal ions, particularly Fe3+, can appreciably enchance the catalytic activity of silica in the formation of formaldehyde in the partial oxidation of methane by oxygen.
