Synthesis and S-centred reactivity of (C5Me5)3Ru3S4+

Abstract

Addition of (C5Me5)Ru+ to (C5Me5)2Ru2S4 affords (C5Me5)3Ru3S4+; this cluster displays S-centred reactivity towards a range of electrophiles (H+, SO2, Me+, Et+) to give adducts with solid-state structures containing Ru33-S2)(µ3-S)(µ-SR) cores.
