Room temperature phosphorescence of alkali salt modified surfaces

Abstract

The room temperature phosphorescence of a series of polycyclic aromatic compounds has been investigated on two solid support matrices, alkali salt–polyacrylic acid and alkali salt–cyclomaltohexaose. The different intensities given by the different sodium and potassium salts within the surfaces should enable the various aromatic compounds to be identified in multi-component mixtures.
