Diode-laser susceptible photochromic polymers: synthesis and photochemical properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) with spirobenzothiopyrans as side-groups

Abstract

Diode-laser susceptible photochromic poly(methyl methacrylate) having a series of spirobenzothiopyrans as side-groups have been prepared and their coloured cast films induced by UV irradiation retained the initial colour for 200 days, while the composite films doped with spirobenzothiopyrans showed rapid thermal decolouration.
