Microwave dielectric loss in polycrystalline 3d metal complexes

Abstract

Some polycrystalline 3d metal complexes including tris(acetylacetonato)metal(III) complexes and bis-N-substituted salicylidenamines copper(II) complexes and their derivatives have been investigated by the microwave dielectric loss method. The correlation between the dielectric losses and electronic structure of the coordination centre has been observed. Its mechanism seems to be due to an intramolecular polarization of the coordination centre.
