Iron–diimine–cyanide complexes as probes for aqueous micellar systems

Abstract

Medium effects on the charge-transfer bands of solvatochromic iron–diimine–cyanide complexes in aqueous micellar systems are described. The observed shifts in [small nu, Greek, macron]max for these bands are discussed in terms of the charges on both the complexes and the surfactants, and in relation to the critical micellar concentrations.
