Faraday communications. High-resolution electronic spectroscopy and predissociation dynamics of SiH +2 in high-Ka states

Abstract

Laser photo-predissociation spectra of SiH+22B1–X2A1) involving very high values of the Ka quantum number have been recorded in a fast-ion-beam experiment. Assignments were accomplished by combining experimental data with Renner–Teller calculations of the energy levels. The predissociation decay rates are unexpectedly low and exhibit a marked dependence on the bending vibrational and Ka quantum numbers.
