Explanation for the occurrence of {hklm} faces on modulated crystals

Abstract

The concept of a morphological theory extended to include a superspace approach is presented. The aim of this theory is to be able to treat the case of incommensurate modulated crystals and consequently to understand the existence of satellite faces. The case of a one-dimensional modulated crystal is discussed.
