Abstract
Treatment of [Pt(dppy)2(PhC
C)2](dppy = 2-diphenylphosphinopyridine) with 2 equivalents of [Cu(MeCN)4]+ or [Ag(MeCN)4]+ in dichloromethane afforded the trinuclear heterometallics, [PtII(dppy)2(PhC
C)2{CuI(MeCN)2}2]2+ or [PtII(dppy)2(PhC
C)2{Ag1(MeCN)}2]2+, in high yield; their photophysics and electrochemistry have been studied and the crystal structure of [PtII(dppy)2(PhC
C)2-{CuI(MeCN)2}2][PF6]2 determined.
