Abstract

Emission from the intraligand 3(ππ*) and 3(dπ*)(dσ*) excited states has been observed in fluid solution and the solid state of [Pt2(dppm)2Cl(L)]ClO4[dppm = Ph2PCH2PPh2, L =(4-chlorophenyl)(4-pyridyl)-acetylene], the structure of which has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
