Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of chloro tris(tert-butylimido)manganese

Abstract

Interaction of a solution of manganese(III) chloride in acetonitrile with trimethylchlorosilane and trimethylsilyl(tert-butyl)amide produces the green, thermally stable, manganese(VII) compound, MnCl(NBut)3, which has a tetrahedral structure (X-ray).
