The reaction between the tetrahydridodecacarbonyltetrarhenium cluster and methanol: a fifth-order reaction

Abstract

The reaction between H4Re4(CO)2 and methanol in chloroform, yielding H4Re4(CO)2(MeOH)4 at room temperature, is first order in H4Re4(CO)12 and fourth order in methanol; no intermediate was detected by UV–VIS and 1H NMR spectra.
