Preparation and X-ray crystal structure of the triply hydrazide-bridged complex [NH2Me2]2[{VCl3}2(µ-NNME2)3]: a species derived from the disproportionation of SiMe3NHNME2

Abstract

The reaction of [VCl3(PMePh2)2] or [VCl3(thf)3](thf = tetrahydrofuran) with SiMe3NHNMe2 produces the first triply hydrazide-bridged complex, identified by X-ray crystallography as [NH2Me2]2[{VCl3}2(µ-NNMe2)3] in which the cations are formed by cleavage of the hydrazine and the bridge in the anion comprises two hydrazide(2) residues and one isodiazene residue.
