A new glucoalkaloid from Uncaria glabrata

Abstract

Extraction of the bark of Uncaria glabrata DC (Rubiaceae) has yielded an unusual indole mono-terpenoid glucoalkaloid, glabratine, for which structure 7 is proposed on the grounds of its spectral data.
