Microwave spectrum of chlorophosphaethyne, Cl—C[triple bond, length as m-dash]P

Abstract

The microwave spectra of two chlorine isotopic species of Cl—C[triple bond, length as m-dash]P have been recorded in the frequency range 24–43 GHz. The bond lengths have been determined to be r(Cl—C)= 1.635(5)Å and r(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]P)= 1.554(5)Å. The dipole moment in the vibrationally excited bending state v2= 1 is µ= 0.056(2) D (1 D ≈ 3.335 64 × 10–30 C m).
